Tarija, known like the land of the copleros, the wine and the beautiful valleys, preserve the inheritance of the colony and, al same time, is constituted in a pleasant and hot place for the rest and the enjoyment of the nature. In the Plaza Luis of Sources is exhibited the image of its founder Luis of Sources. The department of Tarija is located al south of the Republic of Bolivia. It limits al north with the department of Chuquisaca , al south with the Republic of Argentina; al this with the Republic of Paraguay and al western with Chuquisaca and Potosí. Has an extension of 37,623 km. 2 and a population of 391.226 inhabitants (Census 2001). The capital of the department is the city of Tarija (1,866 m.s.n.m), situated among the 21° 32' 00" of south latitude and the 64° 47' 00" of western length of the meridian of Greenwich. The department of Tarija counts on 6 provinces and 157 cantons.

Marries Golden
